One of the main reasons why boot camp exercises are so popular is because they’re a lot more fun to do than traditional exercises. Most people are getting sick and tired of doing the same fitness machines in the gym so they’re looking for other alternatives than what they’ve been doing.
These boot camp exercises are also going to be much more effective than the fitness machines you’ll find at the gym because they’re going to be much more intense. Boot camp programs have only become more and more popular over the years for a very good reason as its not only the results people are getting with them but the fact that they are much more fun than what most people are used to.
What Are Boot Camp Exercises?
Fitness boot camp exercises are based upon military training calisthenics which essentially just uses your body weight to perform many different yet simple movements. The military specifically used this method of training not only because it was very effective but because it would drastically increase ones strength, agility and stamina.
Not only did military boot camps use these exercises but also many sport teams because they were very easy to do practically anywhere and you could do them in a team synchronization. Other training programs use these type of boot camp exercises such as Crossfit as staples in their training routines.
Some examples of these old school boot camp exercises include jumping jacks, burpees, lunges, squats, pull-ups, push-ups, dips and sit-ups. Also if you’re going to do these boot camp workout programs make sure that you properly warmup prior to exercising as well as cooling down with some stretching.
Who Are Boot Camp Exercises For?
Unfortunately most people think these boot camp workout programs are only meant for military recruits but the truth is just about anybody can do these type of exercises because all they require is your body to move in a specific natural movement. Our bodies are really naturally designed to perform these type of movements but people get scared because they look too intense and would rather take the easy way out with fancy fitness machines.
But people who are trying to lose weight should pay special attention to boot camp fitness routines because they’re going to be highly effective means of doing so. Sure they’re also going to be higher on the intensity scale but with that extra effort is going to bring some special rewards.
One of the reasons boot camp workouts are so effective is that they also involve a means of high intensity interval training. This essentially means they’re are alternating periods of high intensity followed by a lower intensity recovery time. This has been proven through research to burn way more fat than traditional steady state cardiovascular exercise such as jogging.
One of the reasons my clients enjoy my Napa boot camp so much is because these exercises add so much variety to the workouts. It’s easy to get very bored with the monotonous exercises most gyms have available. In fact there are many gyms now who are also jumping on the bandwagon and actually implementing boot camp exercises as well to cater to a wider audience who are looking for this type of training style.
More Benefits To Boot Camp Exercises
Since boot camp workout routines use your entire body they’re also going to train more muscles which is going to cause bigger strength gains. Many bodybuilder type workouts most gyms have only isolate one muscle group but this isn’t going to be the most effective means of increasing strength because as you focus on one muscle group the rest of the body will be resting.
Another benefit to fitness boot camp exercises is the natural improvement in speed and agility. Since you’re training your body in natural movements with these exercises you’ll also improve your stamina through the high intensity interval training. If you don’t think you’ll want to have stamina or agility just imagine as you age your body easily losing balance doing simple things around the house.
